Who are the favourites to win 2023-24 Spanish La Liga?

The 2023-24 Spanish La Liga season starts on Friday 11 August as Almeria host Rayo Vallecano and Valencia travel to Sevilla on opening night.

Barcelona head into the new season as defending champions, having ran away with the title last season, but it is rivals Real Madrid who are the 1/1 favourites to win the 2023-24 Spanish La Liga title.

Despite finishing 10 points clear, Barcelona are 7/4 second favourites. Not only do the writers at Gambling Happy believe this is great value, we make the Catalan giants favourites ourselves.

Xavi’s side have brought in Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City to create and score chances from midfield, and Inigo Martinez from Athletic Bilbao to strengthen the defence.

However, they have seen defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets head to Inter Miami, alongside left-back Jordi Alba. The latter could be replaced by Marcos Alonso or youngster Alejandro Balde, whilst the head coach has plenty of options in the middle of the park. Ousmane Dembele has gone to Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid haven’t been as busy in the transfer window, but the signing of Jude Bellingham for an initial €103 million from Borussia Dortmund has certainly been the biggest story. Left-back Fran Garcia has been re-signed from Rayo Vallecano.

The Madrid giants have lost Karim Benzema to Saudi Arabia and Marco Asensio to PSG, which certainly weakens their attack on paper.

The favourites for the 2023-24 Spanish La Liga season are as follows:

Real Madrid 1/1
Barcelona 7/4
Atletico Madrid 9/1
Sevilla 33/1
Real Sociedad 40/1
Villarreal 50/1
