San Francisco 49ers @ Philadelphia Eagles NFC Conference Championship preview

The number 1 seed Philadelphia Eagles will face the number 2 seed San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Conference Championship at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

Nick Sirianni’s side decimated NFC East rivals New York Giants 38-7 in the Divisional Round as Jalen Hurts looked close to 100% and the Eagles put up a staggering 268 yards on the ground.

They will have a difficult task in replicating those rushing yards this weekend as the 49ers bring the number one defence against the run.

San Francisco 19-12 winners over the Dallas Cowboys in their Divisional Round playoff match; not as convincing as we had been expecting.

Brock Purdy faced hid toughest opponent and although he didn’t turn the ball over, his 19/29 for 214 yards will need to improve if they’re to progress to the Super Bowl. The rookie Quarterback can be grateful to the team’s defence, which picked off Dak Prescott twice.

Defensively, the Eagles apply the most pressure on Quarterbacks, sacking them on average once in every eight pass plays. This spells danger for Mr Irrelevant in what will only be his eighth NFL start.

What is the 49ers @ Eagles money line?

The Philadelphia Eagles are -2.5 point favourites and 20/29 to win straight up.

San Francisco @ Philadelphia pick

Philadelphia have been looking excellent on both sides of the ball for most of the season and none was more prevalent than last weekend’s thrashing of the Giants. They do come up against the NFL’s top defence, but with a number of options at running back and three top receivers in AJ Brown, Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert, as well as Jalen Hurts’ legs, they should put up a few points on Sunday.

The lack of points put up by San Francisco versus Dallas makes us wonder how they’ll do versus a better defence.

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles -2.5 at 10/11
