New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles Divsional Round preview

Three of the four remaining teams in the NFC at the Divisional Round are from the East and Saturday’s match between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field will be the third meeting between the two teams this season.

The Eagles have won both previous meetings this season – 48-22 in New York in week 14 and then 22-16 in their regular season finale to wrap up the number 1 seeding.

New York has surprised many in making it to the playoffs even before their 31-24 Wildcard round win over the Minnesota Vikings, as we correctly predicted in going 5 out of 6 last weekend.

This Saturday’s game will be the end of the line for Brian Daboll’s side though. They face a genuine Super Bowl contender in the form of their divisional rivals and I don’t see how they can match up defensively, just like when they gave up 48 points on their home turn little more than a month ago.

Jalen Hurts returned in week 17 and has had two weeks to rest since. They have a useful ground game outside of the Quarterback taking off himself, whilst AJ Brown and Devonta Smith has been one of the best receiving pairs in the NFL this season. Tight End Dallas Goedert is healthy again too.

For New York, Daniel Jones will be looking to get short, quick passes off on offence and rely heavily on Saquon Barkley. If the Eagles can slow the Running Back down then they will win this match handedly. They simply may not have to stop him anywhere given the gulf in talent between these two this season.

What is the Giants @ Eagles money line?

No surprises to see Philadelphia as the clear favourite in this one, with odds as short as 1/4 to win. They are 8.5 point favourites.

New York @ Philadelphia pick

We think the Philadelphia Eagles will progress to the NFC Championship with a comfortable victory over the New York Giants on Saturday and are confident in backing against the spread.

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles -8.5 points at 10/11
