The Jacksonville Jaguars overcame the second biggest deficit to win in playoff history as they turned a 0-27 start into a 31-30 win over the Los Angeles Chargers last Saturday.
Trevor Lawrence made a notably slow start to the game with 3 interceptions in the first quarter before Doug Pederson’s side turned it around after half-time.
Their reward is a visit to the number 1 seed in the AFC.
Admittedly, the Kansas City Chiefs haven’t appeared as hot as in recent seasons, with only a couple of standout victories. But let’s not play them down too badly, they still went 14-3 and Patrick Mahomes threw for over 5,000 yards on the season.
Defensively is where the question marks remain for Andy Reid’s side. Which should make for a shootout in the first 2023 NFL Disivional Round match this weekend.
Whilst Jacksonville do have a decent defence it’s hard to see where they will slow down Mahomes and co. That means this Jacksonville offence that put up 28 points in the second half last week will need to start the game hot at Arrowhead Stadium and maintain that throughout the game if they’re to pull off an upset.
What is the Jaguars @ Chiefs money line?
The Kansas City Chiefs have opened up as -9.5 point favourites and are as short as 2/9 to win the game. In the final 5 weeks of the regular seasno they only beat the Denver Broncos by six and three points. They were 27-17 winners at home to Jacksonville back in week 10.
Jacksonville @ Kansas City pick
Whilst we expect Kansas City to progress to the AFC Championship it’s hard to back them at such a big spread. Expecting a shootout, over 52.5 points seems the best pick.
Pick: Over 52.5 points at 10/11
