The 2022 Super Bowl will see the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams go head-to-head at SoFi Stadium on Sunday 13 February.
Sean McVay will be coaching in his second Super Bowl in four seasons. His team headed into their match versus the New England Patriots as very narrow favourites, only to lose 3-13.
The head coach of the Rams conceded his defence was great but that he didn’t have the offence to pull off a victory. This past off-season he finally fixed things with the trade for Matthew Stafford from the Detroit Lions.
Stafford has lead an offence with the likes of Cooper Kupp, Odell Beckham Jr and Van Jefferson, that has been improved with the return of running back Cam Akers in the post-season.
The 34-year-old is the sportsbooks’ MVP favourite at a price of 1/1. This is followed by Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrows, at 9/4.
However, there is better value elsewhere. The Rams offence may not be heavily reliant on their 34-year-old quarterback. The other side of the ball has been huge in getting them to the final dance this season. On top of that, the Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive line.
Aaron Donald has been disruptive during the playoffs and should enjoy getting success up the middle in getting to Burrows. The future Hall of Famer is good value at 14/1 to be named as Super Bowl LVI MVP. Jeffrey Simmons recorded 3 sacks for the Tennessee Titans versus the Bengals in the Divisional Round.
Teammate on the edge, Von Miller is 40/1. From this position, Harold Landry III recorded 1.5 sacks and Bud Dupree 1.0 in Tennessee’s loss to the Bengals three weeks ago. This cannot be ignored.
