Aaron Rodgers was making his return from COVID, hadn’t trained with the team all week and was only activated less than 24 hours before game time.
On the other side, Russell Wilson was making his much-hyped return since injuring a finger in the week 5 loss to the LA Rams. The former Super Bowl MVP failed to impress in snowy conditions at Lambeau Field.
Green Bay lead 3-0 at half-time and the lead could have been greater but for some controversial refereeing calls. In the end, the deserved winners came through 17-0 after a big night from running back AJ Dillon.
The result leaves the Packers as the #1 team in the NFL with a 8-2 record, with quarterback Rodgers in a 7-game winning streak since the opening week loss to the New Orleans Saints.
At 3-6 Pete Carroll’s side are actually only one win behind the current number 7 seed in the playoff race, and with a remaining schedule that they could easily finish the season on 8, 9 or even 10 wins.
