The NFL playoffs begin this weekend in Buffalo as a bigger post-season schedule takes place than ever before.
Each division has an additional team and with only one number 1 seed in each there will be six games both this weekend and next.
Indianapolis Colts @ Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills will host the Indianapolis Colts in the first game on Saturday as the AFC East champions moved into the number 2 spot in week 17 with help of Pittsburgh Steelers’ loss at the Cleveland Browns.
The Bills are -8 point favourites on the spread, giving them odds of to win their first playoff match since January 1996.
LA Rams @ Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks host NFC rivals LA Rams on wildcard weekend. Pete Carroll’s side had looked woeful defensively prior to December but ended the season well. On offence, Russell Wilson has two top receivers to find deep downfield in Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.
LA were beaten 9-20 in this fixture only two weeks ago, and that came after a loss to the New York Jets. However, a 23-16 win in week 10 will give Sean McVay’s side confidence.
Spread: Seattle Seahawks -3
Odds: Seattle Seahawks 20/33 | LA Rams 29/20
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Washington Football Team
The 7-9 Washington Football Team are the longest priced home team on wildcard weekend and with issues at quarterback they really may need a miracle to beat Tom Brady and co.
Tampa Bay have a good defence and their offence has been moving the ball down the field very well in recent weeks. Some think they can reach the Super Bowl from the NFC.
Spread: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -9
Odds: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2/9 | Washington Football Team 7/2
Baltimore Ravens @ Tennessee Titans
Tennessee turned up to M&T Bank Stadium in the divisional round last year and caused a big upset of the number one seed in the AFC, with Derrick Henry running over the Baltimore Ravens’ defence and confusing Lamar Jackson at quarterback.
The Ravens head into the first game on Sunday as favourites, just like last year, but they ended the season looking very impressive, whilst the Titans gave up 40 points to Green Bay and 38 to Houston in their final two games.
Spread: Baltimore Ravens -3
Odds: Baltimore Ravens 10/17 | Tennessee Titans 6/4
Chicago Bears @ New Orleans Saints
New Orleans’ bumpy mid-December cost them number one spot so whilst the Green Bay Packers are on the bye this week their rivals travel to the Superdome.
The Bears have a good defence but have struggled badly on offence this season, and they’re matching up with a good defence. A tough ask.
Spread: New Orleans Saints -10
Odds: New Orleans Saints 4/21 | Chicago Bears 4/1
Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers
An all AFC North matchup sees a rematch of week 17 in a different location. Cleveland were 24-22 winners against a Steelers team without Ben Roethlisberger a week ago which cost their division rivals taking the #2 seed.
Like the other all-division tie in the wildcard round, the series is 1-1 so far this season.
Spread: Pittsburgh Steelers -6
Odds: Pittsburgh Steelers 10/29 | 47/20
