Who are the 2020-21 Champions League favourites?

Six teams have booked their place into the knockout stage of the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League knockout stages following round four of the group stage this week:

Barcelona
Bayern Munich
Chelsea
Juventus
Manchester City
Sevilla

Of those, only defending champions Bayern Munich have won their group this early. They are also the only team to be top of their domestic league too.

Hansi Flick’s side are playing as well as they did when they won the 2019-20 competition back in August, which included blitzing Chelsea, Barcelona and Lyon on their way to the final.

It should come as no surprise to see the German Bundesliga champions are the favourites to defend their Champions League trophy in May too. The bookmakers have made the Bavarians 3/1 to do so.

They are followed by Manchester City at 9/2. City have already booked their place into the second round, but currently sit down in 13th in the English Premier League table after an inconsistent start.

Domestically, Pep Guardiola’s side are eight points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur, but with a game in hand.

Liverpool are 13/2 third favourites which many may see as good value as Jurgen Klopp’s side will have a healthier defence come the knockout rounds, assuming they get there. The Reds’ defeat at home to Atalanta on Wednesday leaves them two points above both the Italians and Ajax with two games to go.

Last season’s runners-up Paris Saint-Germain complete the top four, back at 14/1. They still have some work to do, three points behind Manchester United and level on points with RB Leipzig in Group H.

The full list of odds is as follows:

Bayern Munich 3/1
