Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno will fight for the UFC Flyweight Championship at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada in the main event of UFC 256 on Saturday 12 December.
Less than two hours after his first flyweight title defense, Deiveson Figueiredo had verbally agreed to this match against top contender Moreno next month.
Brazilian Figueiredo heads into the bout as the third-ever Flyweight champion after beating Joseph Benavidez for the vacant title via a rear-naked chokehold in Abu Dhabi back in July.
He took less than two minutes to defeat Alex Perez with a Alex Perez at UFC 255 in the same venue last weekend and has been lined up for a quick second title defence.
Mexican Brandon Moreno is expected to put up more of a fight versus the current champion, though comes into the bout as the 7/4 underdog with the sportsbooks.
He is on a three-match winning streak in the UFC over the past 12 months, which included a win over Brandon Royval by TKO at the very end of the first round at UFC 255.
Deiveson Figueiredo has a 20-1 career record, on a five-bout winning streak, with three of his last four coming by way of submission. He is 2/5 favourite to retain his title next month.
