Liverpool have been made the sportsbooks’ new favourites to win the 2020-21 English Premier League following Manchester City’s 2-5 thrashing at home by Leicester City on Sunday.
The defending champions had started the season as 9/4 second favourites behind Pep Guardiola’s side and have started the new campaign with 4-3 and 2-0 victories over Leeds United and Chelsea respectively. They are in action at home to Arsenal on Monday night.
Manchester City only started the new campaign last weekend and picked up an impressive 3-1 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, a dismal showing at home to Leicester led to them being humiliated by Brendan Rodgers’s side.
As a result, Liverpool are now 6/5 favourites to defend their Premier League title, followed by City at 7/5.
To give you an idea how are these two teams are ahead of the competition, Chelsea are the third favourites at 25/1.
