The Tampa Bay Lightning have tied the Stanley Cup finals up with a 3-2 win on Tuesday.
Jon Cooper’s side got off to a blistering start with a 3-0 nothing lead at the end of the 1st period thanks to goals from Brayden Point, Ondrej Palat and Kevin Shatternkirk in a four-minute spell.
The Dallas Stars got a goal back in the 2nd period and then gave the Lightning a nervous finish when Mattias Janmark scored 5:27 into the final period.
Tampa Bay held on to level the series at 1-1 ahead of Game 3 on Wednesday. Dallas had been surprise 4-1 winners in Game 1.
Levelling the finals puts momentum on Tampa Bay’s side and with a short turnaround they are heavy favourites to win the all important game 3. They are 1.62 to win the match.
Heading into game 3, the Tampa Bay Lightning are 1.50 to win the best of 7 series.
