The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will meet at the Hard Rock Stadium in, Miami Gardens, Florida on Sunday 2 February 2020 for the Vince Lombardi trophy in Super Bowl LIV.
Kansas City won the AFC Championship with a 35-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The match didn’t avoid controversy as a video went viral on social media showing an official throwing a flag on the Titans for holding within a split second of Ryan Tannehill receiving the snap. This was at 2nd & 1 during their first drive of the second half, down 17-21. Mike Vrabel’s side fell behind the chains and never got back into the game after that bizarre flag.
Next Sunday will be the Chiefs’ first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years since winning Super Bowl IV against the Minnesota Vikings.
There were no problems for San Francisco booking their first Super Bowl appearance in seven years and looking to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy for the first time since 1994.
Jimmy Garoppolo helped lead his side to a 27-0 half-time lead over the Green Bay Packers at Levi’s Stadium, being running out 37-20 winners.
This is a very exciting matchup, with Patrick Mahomes leading arguably the best offence in the NFL, against the number one ranked defence. On top of that, the 49ers have a very efficient offence including the league’s number one ground game.
The bookmakers are struggling to pick between the two with the Kansas City Chiefs starting as 1 point favourites on the spread.
Defence wins championships, right? In that case, we’re going for the San Francisco 49ers to deny Andy Reid his first ring.
Pick: San Francisco 49ers +1 at 10/11
