Minnesota Vikings & San Francisco Odds & Pick

The Minnesota Vikings advanced to the NFC Divisional playoff round with an upset of the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome last week. Their prize… a trip to Levi’s Stadium to take on the number 1 seeded San Francisco 49ers.

Kirk Cousins had the game of his career as he threw beat the Saints’ secondary and threw the game’s winning touchdown. They are 53/20 underdogs this weekend up against the 10/33 hosts.

The 31-year-old faces the league’s number one defence this Saturday though and there won’t be anywhere for the quarterback to hide in the Bay area. You can expect pressure from the 49ers’ front four and a secondary ready to pick off any mistimed passes.

Minnesota have a good defence of their own and they will need a productive day to keep their team in the game. Don’t be surprised if they’re on the field for a long time though. Kyle Shanahan’s side have a solid ground game and Jimmy Garoppolo doesn’t turn the ball over too often.

Garoppolo represents 50% of the Super Bowl rings among remain quarterbacks in the 2019 NFL playoffs having picked up two as a backup in New England (Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson have one each). Expect a steady performance from him as the San Francisco offence put points up on the board and ultimately see off their opponents.

Pick: San Francisco 49ers -6.5 at 10/11
