The Houston Texans came from a 0-13 half-time deficit and no first half offence, to beating the Buffalo Bills in overtime last week.
That means Bill O’Brien’s side have essentially played five quarters of football since the Kansas City Chiefs last took to the field. Though they were able to rest their key players in week 17 as nothing was on the line.
The Kansas City Chiefs were the pre-season favourites and ended the regular season behind only Baltimore on the sportsbooks’ list to win this season’s Super Bowl.
Houston have a decent ground game in Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson and they should be looking to get five yards a carry against this Chiefs defence. Though Andy Reid’s side did tighten up in the final few games of the season. Otherwise, I cannot see Deshaun Watson and co keeping up with the high-powered Chiefs offence.
The Chiefs are rightfully 2/9 favourites. I cannot see anything but a home win and I can see it a blowout, particularly if they get on top early.
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs -9.5
