Andy Ruiz Jr. and Anthony Joshua will meet in the boxing ring for the second time in six months next weekend as the British boxer looks to win back his IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO belts at the Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday 7 December.
The bookmakers had Joshua as the 1/20 favourite or shorter odds when they met on 1 June at Madison Square Garden, New York.
Ruiz Jr. pulled off a massive upset as he dominated the fight before a seventh-round stoppage victory. Bookmakers reported it as the biggest heavyweight championship upset since Hasim Rahman knocked out Lennox Lewis in the fifth round 18 years ago.
The 30-year-old Mexican-American dominated Joshua in their first meeting, flooring the Brit on four occasions, handed Anthony Joshua his first defeat – previously having a 22-0 record with 21 KOs.
Despite his performance in the first meeting, bookmakers currently have Andy Ruiz Jr. as the 2/1 underdog for the rematch; odds that may attract boxing punters.
