Man City firm favourites for EFL Cup

Manchester City are the firm favourites to win the 2020 EFL Cup following today’s quarter-final draw.

The Citizens have been handed a favourable draw away to League One outfit Oxford United in the final eight, with the tie set to be played on Wednesday 18 December.

Premier League leaders Liverpool have been given odds of 5/1 ahead of their quarter-final tie against Aston Villa. This could be due to the fact that the game is scheduled to take place two days before their FIFA World Club Cup competition begins. One would think the Reds could be successful in bringing the game forward, which would almost-certainly see their odds drop.

Manchester United are currently the second favourites with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side seeing odds of 9/2 after drawing League Two side Colchester United, with the game to be played at Old Trafford.

Leicester City should not be overlooked at a tasty 10/1 ahead of their trip to struggling Everton. Many expect the Toffees to have a new manager by then though.

Manchester City beat Chelsea on penalties in last season’s final at Wembley Stadium.
