Liverpool now odds-on to win Premier League

Liverpool are odds-on favourites to win the Premier League title for the first time this season.

This comes after Manchester City were surprisingly beaten 2-0 at home by Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, falling eight points behind the league leaders.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have made a perfect start to the season with eight wins from eight heading into the international break following their 95th penalty to beat Leicester City 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday.

The Reds finished one point behind City in the title race last season, despite amassing an incredible 97 points. After the international break they will head to Old Trafford to face bottom half Manchester United as odds-on favourites to win both that match and the Premier League.

Eight successive victories to start the current campaign has seen the bookies slash Liverpool’s odds from 6/5 down to 8/11 to lift the Premier League trophy for the first time in their history.

It’s going to be another two-horse race, and that’s only if Manchester City can stay in touch with the league leaders. This is matched by the bookmakers who have third favourites Arsenal at a whooping 125/1. And even then, those odds are way too short…
