Novak Djokovic is the bookmakers’ favourite to win Wimbledon over the next fortnight.
The Serbian is the defending champion at SW19.
Djokovic has not played a single tournament since his semi-final elimination at the hands of Dominic Thiem at the French Open at the start of the month. He is now stranger to the grass court in London as he has won the competition on four previous occasions in total.
Bookmakers are offering 6/5 on Novak Djokovic to go all the way over the next two weeks, whilst Roger Federer is the second favourite at 3/1. After that it’s an open field, with French Open champion Rafael Nadal third favourite at 15/2, followed by Greek up-and-comer Stefanos Tsitsipas to win his first Grand Slam at 18/1.
Djokovic will face Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber in the first round later today. The 35-year-old is a former world number 16 but currently sits at number 57 in the ATP rankings.
Wimbledon begins on Monday 1 July 2019, culminating on the final on Sunday 14 July.
